Golf and Jaguar cars. I don’t feel old enough for either and rue the morning when I wake up thinking of popping down for a quick nine in the XK.
This has been further compounded by Jaguar’s most recent, and most conceited it has to be said, ‘It’s Good to be Bad’ advertising campaign. The pseudo James-Bond ad features such ever-so British thesps as Mark Strong, Tom Hiddleston and Ben Kingsley (Sir Ben Kingsley!) asking why they themselves, make such good villains on the silver screen.
Unfortunately for Jaguar, the ad has now been banned for encouraging irresponsible driving. Given the fee the car company will have paid such a collection of Hollywood stars to appear, it would be fair to say that being bad has turned out to not be that good after all. Also, is it just me or did anyone else notice that the Jag in the ad, driving recklessly through the night-time streets of our capital city, was left hand drive?
