Is it just me or did anyone else out there think the universal outpouring of political grief over the sad deaths of both Tony Benn and Bob Crow was nothing more than shameless? Man and boy, from Boris Johnson to Nigel Farage, apparently collectively revered and completely disagreed with both:

“I feel the loss of both dear eclectic Tony Benn and hard-bargaining Bob Crow most profoundly because I admired everything about them and as long as I was able to ignore all the things they said and all the things they did, we were all able to become dear and true friends. In particular Tony was more of a mentor to me, if by which you mean ‘mentor’ was someone I considered to be completely wrong about everything and in fact, dangerously unhinged. I like to think that their collective abilities have inspired me to turn this tribute into something a little bit more about me, because after all, it’s me who isn’t dead.”

Shocking.
