Is it just me or does anyone else think the term ‘tsar’ is ludicrous? I just don’t get exactly what makes someone believe they aspire to the ultimate Russian monarch’s position and why would it have any relevance in our society today? Anyway, notwithstanding that rant, what on earth is the coalition playing at in appointing one such nobody, and one who changed his name to that of an actor in The Godfather as he was impressed by his performance ferchristsakes, as ‘Social Mobility’ tsar!

OK, so as a ‘working-class guy done good’ I know a little of social mobility and appreciate the difficulty of climbing those greasy ladders but surely a guy whose claim to fame is that his ‘role’ a TV celebrity ‘dragon’ enabled him to attempt to buy a baby daughter for £745 for his brother from a destitute Pakistani family ain’t the right guy for the job? How I chuckled when it then became common knowledge that both his daughters benefitted from his nepotism as they both work for companies he owns. Ouch. At least with his corrupt and immoral child-buying background he’s placing himself in a perfect position to be a future peer of the house.
