Was undoubtedly his father, Prince Philip’s response to the recent outcry caused by ol’ blabber-mouth’s Putin/Hitler revelation. So, two-thirds of a century into his job training scheme, Charles should know by now that there are no private words during formal engagements, and if he doesn’t know to keep shtum by now, my guess is that he never will. And why shouldn’t he express an opinion? Just because his mother kept her own counsel doesn’t mean he has to and previous monarchs certainly haven’t. Is our constitution so feeble that it will collapse if the Prince mutters a few opinions? And remember, no-one has to act on them let alone take them seriously!
Putin, on the hand came back with his own comparison and backed it up with a number of surprising similarities between Heir Charles and Herr Hitler:
– They’re both German.
– They’re both woeful watercolour artists.
– They’ve both been driven mad by a desire to rule.
– Both are very keen on dogs.
– Both are vegetarians.
– Both had domineering mothers.
– Both were stupid enough to take on Russia.
President Putin then reminded the world’s press that he is nothing like Hitler, he’s far more Stalin!
